Tao-Girl of the Moment

At a seminar I gave in Connecticut last fall, I was fortunate to meet our newest Tao-Girl of the Moment, Marquise.

Along with her twin sister, Martinique, Marquise is a 16 year-old high school sophomore

Each of these amazing Tao-Girls are unique and wonderful and I am now proud to introduce you to... Marquise

CJ: What are your hobbies and interests?
M:  I like to swim and I am hoping that I will start tennis this spring. I also like to watch tv, sing, draw (on occasion), and try my best at everything I do. My interests are pretty much the same as my hobbies except for the fact that I love kids, which is why I want to be a teacher someday.

CJ: Is there anything that enjoy that is a bit “different” than the norm?  (like: most everyone else likes hiphop and you’d rather listen to a Beethoven symphony)
M:
I would have to say that there isn’t anything about me that’s too different from other people. I like to think that we are all unique in our own little way.

CJ: Who are your role models?
M:
I would have to say that my role models are my mom and my sisters.

CJ: Why?
M: B
ecause my mom has taught me everything I know. I try to lead by her example and it hasn’t let me down yet. Also my sisters are my role models because we're all different in our little ways but at the end of the day we are there for each other no matter what and that’s a nice thing to have.

CJ: What makes you a Tao-Girl?
M:
I would have to say that I am a Tao-Girl because I dare to be different. I take chances (sometimes), and I’m not afraid to stand up for what I believe in.

CJ: In what way are you Tao?
M: I am Tao in many ways. Sometimes it takes me a while to understand why things happen or for what reason they happened. But for the most part I just go with the flow, unless I feel that something is wrong with it.

CJ: In what ways are you dynamic?
M:
I am dynamic in many ways. The most important is I don’t look at bad things as bad things, I see them as something that may have been bad, but good at the same time. I guess what I am trying to say is that I am a positive thinker. I try not to think about all the bad things that happen.

CJ: Do you have a favorite quote to share?
M: “Love is always patient and kind. It is never jealous. Love is never boastful or conceited. It is never rude or selfish. It does not take offense and is not resentful.”

CJ: Marquise, I am so very pleased to know you and proud to have you highlighted here on the Tao-Girl of the Moment page!  Thank you.
