This month our Tao-Girl of the Moment is
someone I had met while doing a book signing.
She came over to me and we had the
chance to talk about not only my book, but our mutual love of
writing.
Recently she and I have been
corresponding via email and I've loved getting to know her.
Here's your chance to meet our May
Tao-Girl of the Moment; a 13-year-old 7th grader...
Meet Claire!

CJ: What are
your hobbies and interests?
C: I love to write stories. I am writing a story
write now that I hope to publish some day soon, when I finish
it of course. I also like to write songs. One song that I
wrote I thought would be great for a theme song for a show
called, “Gossip Girl.” Also, I love to run! I race home
with my friends almost everyday, even thought they can get
annoyed sometimes. I like to sing and draw, and I play the
electric and acoustic guitar. One of my favorite interests is
Joe Jonas from the Jonas Brothers!!! I love to listen to the
Jonas Brothers.

CJ:
Is there anything that enjoy that is a bit “different” than the norm?
(like: most everyone else likes hip hop and you’d rather
listen to a Beethoven symphony)
C: Hmm, something different from the normal…. I like to do
exercise videos with my mom. J

CJ: Who are
your role models? And why?
C: My role model is my mom and a few of my friends.
My mom is my role model because she is always so optimistic no
matter the situation and is so funny and can make anything
interesting. Some of my role models are my friends because no
matter what, they are always so positive. They’re names are
Kelly and Gina. Also, even if someone makes fun of them, they
just brush it away and they always make me feel better if
I’m ever feeling down. The best part is that they don’t
even know they’re making me feel better. It’s just their
personality and I think that makes them true Tao girls.

CJ: What
makes you a Tao-Girl?
C: - A Tao-Girl is imaginative - she finds ways to make the best of every situation
I’m
optimistic like Dory in Finding Nemo when Marlin and her were
in the whale and he said the water was half empty and Dory
said it was half full. J
L - A Tao-Girl is loving - to her friends and family and especially to herself
When I say hi someone, I always take in
their facial expressions and how they are speaking. That way,
I know what is good to say at that time to them to make them
feel better and try to get them to say something that is good
that is happening in their life. I think that it is better to
listen to your friends and how they’re feeling, and though
some people may think I’m shy, that’s just one part of
me. The part that listens and trys to understand because
there will always be time to say what’s on your mind.

CJ: Do you have
a favorite quote you'd like to share?
C: Don’t be mad or
sad, get glad! |
